Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront
Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront, designed by //3877, combines modern elements with coastal themes to create an elevated beach vacation experience, with all rooms overlooking the Atlantic Ocean from en suite balconies.
Hilton’s new Ocean City, Maryland hotel brings a contemporary oasis to the famed boardwalk. Rooted in local fare and culture, Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront reinvigorates this popular vacation spot on the Atlantic Ocean. In collaboration with OTO Development, //3877 was tapped as the design architect, architect of record and interior designer for the project, which included the complete renovation of an existing beachfront property. Combining modern elements with coastal themes, the hotel reflects an elevated beach vacation experience for guests, with all 170 rooms overlooking the Atlantic Ocean from their en suite balconies.
The space is elegant and comfortable, seamlessly incorporating local beachfront elements into the interior. Modern elements are infused throughout the project, grounding it in a sense of place through nods to the surrounding area, including a neutral finish palette with a coastal atmosphere featuring hues of blue reminiscent of iconic Maryland crabs. Porcelain wood-look tile provides a residential feel while pops of color in the artwork and textiles add a notable energy to the space.
Situated just one block from Ocean City’s famed boardwalk, this Hilton Garden Inn provides a unique offering to the market with an upscale design that extends from the lobby into each guest room. Guests are greeted by a custom-built reception desk under an art installation by local artist Jeff Auxer, featuring nearly 200 glass plates that mimic the look of a school of fish. The rooms feature regionally inspired art, a staple element of the Hilton brand, as well as subtle local style such as nautical light cords for anchor-shaped wall sconces. Soft, comfortable furniture with clean lines and coastal touches provides a residential feel that makes guests feel right at home.
The design team worked closely with the client to achieve a modern, coastal space that provides a quiet respite for any beachgoer, without sacrificing access to popular boardwalk and historic beach town. With a design that pays homage to the iconic shoreline, the renovation establishes the hotel as a thriving destination for years to come.
