  • Jao emerges as a distinctive project seamlessly integrated into the indoor space, extending its embrace to the adjoining terraces and the beachfront of the Waldorf Astoria in the Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Rooted in Mexican tradition, it is curated to deliver an immersive “barefoot luxury” experience—a harmonious blend of the relaxed beachfront atmosphere and the sophisticated comfort of the hotel’s indoor amenities.

This interior project unfolds as a celebration of Caribbean heritage, weaving a narrative that transports users to the serene ambience of a beachside bungalow. The design philosophy prioritizes the creation of spaces where guests not only feel the gentle caress of the sea breeze but also revel in the refined comforts of the hotel’s interior.

At its core, Jao reflects a strong connection to Mexican craftsmanship and design. The architectural elements are infused with artisanal touches, creating an environment rich in cultural identity. Throughout the spaces, carefully curated design pieces and Talavera screens contribute to the distinctive flavor, adding a touch of authenticity to the overall aesthetic.

The result is an immersive journey where the boundaries between indoors and outdoors dissolve, allowing guests to savor the tranquility of the beach while indulging in the luxury of a thoughtfully designed indoor sanctuary.
