  • Nestled along California’s Central Coast within the legendary Pebble Beach, on the Monterey Peninsula, Casa Palmero is an intimate 24-room hideaway featuring newly refreshed interiors under the expert direction of HBA San Francisco. The reimagined property takes inspiration from its Spanish Colonial roots, transforming it into a must-visit destination for discerning travelers seeking intimacy and indulgence. Blending time-honored architecture with artisanal craftsmanship and modern comforts, the design offers a bespoke aesthetic that invites guests to experience the art of living well.

Crisp linen-colored walls and rich, warm woods establish the foundational palette with accents of wrought iron. A tapestry of earthy hues and natural textures recalls the lush layering of Mediterranean style, creating an ambiance of understated elegance. Touches of cooler light grey blues mimic the effect of oncoming fogbanks common to the Monterey Peninsula, subtly muting the surrounding landscape’s natural tones.

Artisanal tilework and handcrafted furnishings by American manufacturers imbue the interiors with quality and craftsmanship. Plush carpets and rugs provide coziness underfoot, while sumptuous seating invites guests to sink in and relax. Wood in varied tones and grains lends a sense of rawness and rusticity with refinement for everyday life and comfort.

Carefully planned public areas cater to small and large groups with reimagined opportunities to unwind and gather, both indoors and out. In the former estate’s main house, a new bar embodies the spirit of a luxury kitchen, rooted in the concept of bringing people together around the shared pleasures of food and drink. Converted from a former dining room, the bar area offers expanded options for lounge and dining seating. Arm and lounge chairs in shapely silhouettes combine with streamlined banquette seating, blending modern sophistication with old-world elegance. Paneled wood and stone give the bar front a familiar feeling of residential ease. Matching wood paneling at the back bar conceals two refrigerators, while intricate metal mesh at the upper cabinetry displays liquor bottles and adds a touch of rustic charm. Hand-painted, white-and-blue mosaic tile brings a sense of history to the space with its connection to Mediterranean architecture.

Guest rooms and suites are a study in understated luxury, with design realized from a renewed perspective yet still honoring the heritage of Casa Palmero’s past. Natural wood finishes and black metal accents harmonize with the neutral color palette and handcrafted aesthetic, creating an atmosphere that is at once serene and tactile. Warm wood grains at the bed frame, nightstands and accent tables exude organic beauty, while clean lines contribute contemporary flair. An upholstered headboard crowns the bed with contrast stitch detailing. Black metal frames the media center in a geometric gesture, where a television floats above the work desk, flanked by a pair of sleek sconces.

Just adjacent to Casa Palmero, the world-class Spa at Pebble Beach takes rejuvenation and relaxation to new heights with refreshed spaces and comforts. Rich wood adds warmth and character to the locker room design. Natural materials and textures allow the revitalizing journey ahead to become the focal point.
