Block Licensed Interior Design Inc. transformed a Calgary golf simulation center into an immersive space with meticulous planning, acoustic considerations, vintage artwork, and cohesive design elements for a sophisticated experience.

    • Golf simulation centers are rapidly gaining popularity, offering enthusiasts an engaging and immersive way to enjoy the sport year-round. They are also becoming another option for social entertainment for those that may or may not be golf fanatics. When Block Licensed Interior Design Inc. was invited to collaborate on this project, they were thrilled to elevate the experience through thoughtful and impactful design. Working closely with the client team, they developed a concept that aligns seamlessly with the corporate campus location, integrates the restaurant and simulation experience, and pays homage to the classic game.

    The transformation of the double-volume space, which had previously served as both a movie theater and then a call center, required meticulous space planning and construction strategy. The design approach focused on incorporating impactful details to enhance the overall atmosphere and utilize every space for function or statement.

    Key design elements include:
    • Acoustic considerations: Upholstered seating, textured wallcoverings, draperies, and acoustic paneling/ceiling tiles all assist in a positive acoustic experience whether the space is fully active or all doors are open to the sound of swinging clubs
    • Small details playing homage: The stitching on the seat backs evoking the craftsmanship of a classic golf club. The flooring draws from the traditional aesthetic of a wooden driver. Soft curves integrated throughout taking inspiration from those of a golf course or the seaming of a golf bag
    • Vintage artwork: Carefully curated pieces add a touch of character and charm to the space.

    These thoughtful touches, combined with a cohesive brand identity and innovative space planning, create a sophisticated and engaging environment that invites guests to enjoy both the game and the experience to the fullest.
