Hotel Kämp
Fyra’s renovation of Hotel Kämp in Helsinki elegantly intertwines refined luxury and Finnish heritage, creating timeless interiors that honor the hotel’s rich history while embracing modern comforts.
Hotel Kämp has stood as a symbol of refined luxury in the heart of Helsinki since 1887. As part of a comprehensive renovation, Fyra was entrusted with the interior design of the hotel’s rooms and corridors – both within the original building and the recently completed extension in the adjacent Helander House.
The design brief called for a refined update that respects the hotel’s heritage while bringing a sense of timelessness and lightness to the interiors. The guest experience at Hotel Kämp is crafted to perfection. Envisioned as a comprehensive spatial experience, the room design combines elegant luxury with opulent materials.
In total, the Helander House extension adds 3100 square metres of new space to Hotel Kämp, including 22 guest rooms, 15 of which are suites.
Each suite is unique, reflecting a layered mix of past and present. The design draws deeply from Finnish cultural heritage, echoing the spirit of the Finnish Golden Age. Inspired by Helene Schjerfbeck’s and Jean Sibelius’ expressive artistry and the architectural elegance of the building, the new interiors are rooted in history while speaking to contemporary needs.

Fyra’s vision has been to uphold Kämp’s heritage while cultivating a sense of calm, inviting luxury. The updated rooms will pay homage to the grandeur of Kämp, featuring long lasting and classical elegance, while integrating completely modernised technology.
The aim is to ensure these new spaces stand the test of time – ready to be enjoyed by guests for the next hundred years.
