  • Against a dramatic backdrop of towering peaks and mirrored glacial waters lies Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, a 700-acre luxury resort with redesigned accommodations by HBA San Francisco. The transformation of the lakefront suites, select cabins, and standard guest rooms unfolds a rich story of heritage, nature, and renewal along the pristine shores of Lac Beauvert in Canada’s Jasper National Park.

Inspired by the region’s natural beauty and balance of wilderness adventure with refined modern comfort, HBA San Francisco developed two distinct design schemes. Alpine Chic honors the locale’s trade and craftsman history through subtle leather and warm wood detailing. Lakeside Charm recalls classic details of a lakeside cabin with architectural elements such as beadboard paneling, wood joinery, and artwork reminiscent of docks and canoes.

HBA San Francisco’s design for the Luxury Lakefront Suites and Jr. Lakeview Suites reimagines Jasper’s trading post legacy for today’s traveler. Playful energy meets restorative calm, inviting guests to embrace the seasons with a sense of discovery and ease, whether skating across a frozen winter lake or paddling brilliant blue waters under summer skies. Reflecting the tranquil rhythm of the landscape, the color palette layers soft neutrals and earthy browns with inky blues pulled from the depths of Lac Beauvert and rust tones that ground the interiors in warmth and heritage.

Gathering zones in the Jr. Lakeview Suites encourage shared moments. The living room, with its generous sectional sofa, entices guests to curl up beside idyllic lake views. Paneled sliding doors provide a pop of bold marine blue and separate the living area from the bedroom, allowing privacy or uninterrupted sightlines to the outdoors.

Along Lac Beauvert’s crystalline edge, the Luxury Lakefront Suites represent the pinnacle of luxury with elevated finishes and panoramic views. Dramatic four-panel doors dissolve the boundary between interior sanctuary and nature’s grand theatre.

Rich, warm wood flooring defines the living area, layered with rugs patterned after traditional log cabin quilts. An existing stone fireplace anchors the space like a geological formation, while neutral-toned leathers and accent pillows weave a common thread throughout the suites. Subtle yet distinctive detailing further distinguishes the Luxury Lakefront Suite experience, from an oversized headboard and lamps in the bedroom to a five-fixture bathroom, where a scenic mountain wallcovering serves as bespoke artwork.

In Fairmont and Deluxe rooms, the palette builds upon the rich rust tones drawn from the original cabin woodwork, emphasizing a sense of continuity throughout the resort. A dominant accent of juniper green brings the forest’s vibrant tone into the room, creating a visual connection to the trees and trails just beyond the window. Carpet patterns inspired by pine branches contribute depth and dimension.

To strengthen the connection to Jasper’s remote locale across all accommodations, HBA San Francisco has introduced modern amenities that pay tribute to the rugged character of the Canadian Rockies while delivering on Fairmont’s level of luxury. Custom refreshment centers are repositioned for improved accessibility while integrating seamlessly within the overall guest room layout. Versatile seating areas blend lounging and dining in a relaxed vignette, encouraging guests to settle in with the informality of lakeside living. An updated art program deepens the sense of place, referencing the paddles and portage of early explorers alongside abstract expressions of the surrounding wilderness.

Furnishings take on a layered, curated feel, where deep ebony accents contrast with supple leathers and fabric-like wall coverings to develop an atmosphere that feels both comfortably lived-in and enduring. In the bathrooms, walk-in showers and upgraded vanities pair with enhanced lighting and thoughtful storage, combining functionality with authenticity and a touch of everyday luxury.
