Carrie Frye Interior Design’s Blue Door in Charlotte harmoniously blends a dramatic entrance with tactile materials and cinematic interiors, creating an intimate speakeasy experience steeped in discovery.
Hidden behind an unmarked entrance, this speakeasy reveals itself through a dramatic velvet-clad vestibule and a signature blue door, a subtle nod to the art of discovery. Inside, the space unfolds in a tactile play of materials and mood. A sculptural quartz bar anchors the room, while a velvet banquette traces its perimeter, inviting conversation beneath layers of bold, pattern-rich wallcovering. Every element feels deliberate: a hidden millwork door opens to an intimate private lounge, and the stage and DJ booth blend seamlessly into the architecture. The result is a setting that feels at once secretive and cinematic, a polished hideaway for those who appreciate design as much as the drink in their hand.
