AGAR’s Prim Bar in Cincinnati elegantly redefines nightlife by blending intimacy and sophistication, inviting guests to savor curated experiences within a tactile, thoughtfully designed environment that prioritizes connection and warmth.
Prim is a modern nightlife concept that explores the softer side of going out. Conceived by the creative force behind Ghost Baby, the nationally celebrated subterranean cocktail bar, this new venue shifts the paradigm from high-volume spectacle to intimacy, elegance, and intentional connection.
Tucked into the energy of downtown Cincinnati’s Fountain District, Prim unfolds as a series of layered experiences—part listening bar, part social lounge, part cocktail salon. The atmosphere hums rather than roars. Vinyl sets and live performances anchor the room, reimagining living room entertainment at a heightened scale. Guests move fluidly from aperitifs in the parlor to celebratory moments in the salon, choosing their own tempo for the evening: low-lit and conversational or spirited and celebratory.
The design language is rooted in monochromatic maximalism, expressed through a distinctly feminine lens. Plush textures, sculptural forms, and warm, enveloping finishes create a softness-driven environment that feels both polished and playful. Layered patterns and dramatic materials build visual richness, while a cohesive palette grounds the space in artful sophistication. Every detail—furnishings, lighting, bar presentation—works in concert to evoke quiet indulgence.
Prim is intentionally sensory. Music curation sets the emotional tone, shifting subtly throughout the night. Lighting glows rather than glares, casting guests in warmth. A signature scent lingers in the air, deepening the immersive quality of the space. The result is an environment that feels tactile and transportive—designed not just to be seen, but to be felt.
At its core, Prim champions an intimacy-first hospitality model. The room is arranged to encourage conversation and lingering. Service is attentive yet unobtrusive, allowing guests to settle in, connect, and be fully present. In a nightlife category that often skews louder and more masculine, Prim offers an alternative point of view—one that celebrates nuance, elegance, and the power of shared experience.
