Candler Hotel Atlanta, Curio Collection by Hilton

Located in the heart of Downtown Atlanta on a site that was once a church in the 1800’s, the Candler Hotel Atlanta by NICOLEHOLLIS is a nod to the city’s rich industrial history and craftsmanship.

  • area / size 250,000 sqft
  • rooms 265
  • Type Hotel,
  • Built in 1906 by Coca-Cola founder Asa Griggs Candler, The Candler Building was the city’s tallest building for many decades. Placed on the National Register of Historical Places, it was known as one of Atlanta’s foremost luxurious office buildings most recently for prominent law and real estate firms.

In 2015 The Candler Building was purchased with plans to convert the 17-story high-rise into a boutique hotel as part of the Hilton Curio Collection. The hotel honors its past by retaining the original building’s iconic lobby and Beaux-Arts architectural details.

Combining modern interpretations with classic pieces, NICOLEHOLLIS applies its residential design background to create comfortable spaces where guests can feel at home. The 265 guestrooms and suites feature white walls, paneled trim, custom floral drapery by Swavelle, and a rich array of art and photography. Custom Lighting by HB Lighting illuminate the featured details and paneled trim around the guestrooms.

NICOLEHOLLIS drew inspiration from Atlanta’s local flora and fauna while incorporating elements of marble, brass, and custom oak parquet wood floors to build upon the idea of hospitality in the South. The building’s historic marble friezes inspired the design of each meeting room, channeling themes of Agriculture, Literature, Astronomy, Drama, and Music. The reception desk features a custom designed panel inspired by the design of the historic First Methodist Church.
