Pilkingtons Restaurant

Ministry of Architecture+Interiors with Cheshire Architects brought a liveliness to Pilkingtons Restaurant with bold patterns, creative lighting, and surrounding windows.

  • area / size 1,830 sqft
  • Year 2016
  • Location Auckland, New Zealand,
  • Type Restaurant,
  • Regarded as an “Oasis in the middle of Auckland’s inner-city” this award-winning space has quickly established itself as a fixture on Shortland St. Since opening it has featured regularly in a succession of accolades from Metro’s Top 50 Restaurants, to being a finalist in numerous categories at the Hospitality NZ awards.

In addition to its superb menu, the Pilkingtons’ experience is as much the enjoyment of its surrounding flora and fauna and the appreciation of the hand-tooled joinery pieces, bespoke fabrics and natural stones. This was a combined team effort between Built NZ, Cheshire Architects, Ministry of Architecture + Interiors, Pilkingtons and Robt. Jones Holdings to deliver a world-class dining location in a prime CBD location now enjoyed by both visitors and office workers alike.
