Mr Porter at Sir Victor Hotel

Designed by Baranowitz + Kronenberg, Mr Porter at Sir Victor Hotel draws direct inspiration from its Barcelona destination, defying expectations and sparking the imagination by way of sleek surroundings and a signature 360-degree island bar that encourages guests to interact and mingle.

  • area / size 3,229 sqft
  • Year 2019
  • Location Barcelona, Spain,
  • Sir Victor launched in early 2019, marrying the very best of the new and the old, layering Sir Hotels’ signature design, lifestyle, food, and beverage, with access to local culture with the property’s stand-out architecture, location, and programming.

Located within the new luxurious Sir Victor Hotel, previously known as the infamous Hotel Omm and next to upscale Paseo de Gracia, a go-to destination for food lovers and luxury shoppers alike, MR PORTER has taken on the spirit of the city through creative design and an unseen culinary offer.

Spread over 300m2, every single element is a harmony of lines, colours, and shapes that avoids the usual perfection; the 360° bar, entirely made of engraved oak wood and contemporary design elements such as robust industrial copper mesh chandeliers floating above the central seating while engraved metal curtains embrace the entire space give Mr Porter a sophisticated yet familiar look and feel. The design is inspired by the Victor behind Sir Victor, the feminine soul disguised as masculine to entice people to appreciate her creation; the imagery of soft fabric curtains is introduced in steel that follows the same pattern, the bar structure alludes to a pleated skirt yet executed in wood, the ceiling above the bar echoes a necklace of beads transformed into a spatial ornamented surface, all of which are bringing alive the stylish and lively atmosphere of a cosmopolitan city like Barcelona.
