Casa Um literally refers to ‘the first house’ of theAddresses. The quiet countryside, the relaxed interior of the house and its secluded location slow down the metronome of every city dweller who stays here. The former shepherd’s house is situated among the orange groves near Tavira, and has beautiful views all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. Casa Um offers its guests a sense of perfect seclusion, yet is ideally situated to explore the picturesque surroundings, villages and beautiful coastline.

Casa Um – renovated by Atelier Rua – is a modernist take on Portuguese traditions, reflecting the style and details of typical Algarve architecture. The result is a soft minimalist space that is private, contemporary and homely. This architectural residence consists of two different levels, with the communal areas on the upper floor – the renovated Portuguese quinta – and the bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and private patios on the new ground floor. The original farmhouse has been converted into a modern kitchen and living room, completely renovated with large windows overlooking the interior patio, terraces and garden. The intimate patio is situated around the old bread oven and is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee in the first rays of sunshine. The former stables at the end of the house now house the dining room, complete with a glass wine cupboard and views of the pool and meadow area. Casa Um is situated on a domain of 1 hectare, with beautiful gardens all around. If you settle down for an aperitif at the table a little higher up on the property, you can enjoy a view of the sea.

Close to the towns of Tavira and Olhão with its fish market. Not far from one of the most beautiful natural areas in Europe, Ria Formosa, and half an hour from the Spanish border. Only 20 minutes from Faro Airport and 10 minutes from the sea.
