Ramat Rachel Hotel

Ran & Morris Interior Designers creating a welcoming and open environment for all parts of the Ramat Rachel Hotel reflecting the spirit of it’s surroundings.

The room
This is how the founders of the kibbutz called their home, the private space within the cooperative space.

And that room inspired us to design the new rooms in the hotel. A homage to the pioneer houses that came to the ground with a touch and attention to modern and contemporary design.

The new design of the rooms expresses in materials, colors and textures the special story of Kibbutz Ramat Rachel, which is full of heritage, values and rich history. We decided to put the peace and quiet of the place into the hotel rooms.

To provide a pampering vacation experience expected from a hotel and to maintain the feeling of home and the special atmosphere of the kibbutz out of a desire that the guests will enjoy it as the members of the kibbutz. Be the place you go to when you want to relax and feel at home, and maintain the spirit and values on which their home is built.

Keep everything around us
The location of our kibbutz is the essence of its story and of the thousands of years of history of the settlement on the mountain, and is also present in the experience of visiting it today so it made sense for us to build in thought while preserving the natural and special environment.

This is how we chose perishable shower products and soap made from natural materials and in smart and energy-efficient systems. Pioneering and environmental for us are to choose my place. In Israeli work. And so we selected the local suppliers: the factories, carpenters, designers, artists – who planned, designed, built and manufactured most of our room in the country.

Limits
Until 1967 the Jordanian border passed right down the hotel. Tourism in Ramat Rachel began with the removal of borders, but there will always be a border point, one that walks / passes between the mountain and the desert, between the new and the old and between the urban and the rural. The natural colors of wood and green from the mountain along with shades of sand from the desert are the expression of this spot in the room. Soft textiles with soft and pleasant lighting will remind and communicate between the location on the watershed line and the interior of the home, cozy soft and pampering.

The restaurant
When we were invited to design the hotel restaurant, here as well we did not leave the origin sources, the values of the kibbutz, the kitchen, the dining area of their houses. Every item and every element in the dining room was created as if it was taken from Mom’s kitchen, from the family dining area, the one that brought us all together for dinners and weekends’ meals. From the lampshades, through the flooring, the chairs, to the dishes in which the food is served and to the vegetation that their mother patted with her own hands. Take we have created an experience of the magical space within the hotel restaurant.
