The Indigo Hotel Alishan
The Indigo Hotel Alishan in Taiwan is a luxury hotel with a design that seamlessly blends modern luxury with natural elements inspired by the local culture and environment by Steven Leach Group and MOD Singapore.
Nestled in the picturesque Alishan National Scenic Area in Taiwan, this luxury hotel is the result of a 10-year design and construction project. The Indigo Hotel Alishan’s (阿里山英迪格酒店) interior design seamlessly blends modern luxury with natural elements inspired by the local culture and environment.
When guests arrive in the hotel, they are welcomed with vernacular interior design which features vertical bamboo. The hotel lobby features a grand high ceiling and large windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and forest. Upon passing the lobby, they will enter a cave inspired by the Legend of The Hamo God where they can hear rain, birds, and Alishan culture sounds. Guests will feel transported into the rain forest as they walk through the hotel. On the room directory signs you will find a design of protected blue birds Taiwan Blue Magpie (臺灣藍鵲) and cherry blossom carpets.
The guest rooms offer a peaceful retreat with natural materials such as wood and stone used throughout. Each room boasts large windows that provide breathtaking views of the natural landscape, and plush bedding to ensure a restful night’s sleep.
The hotel’s restaurant offers a unique culinary experience that combines local flavors with international cuisine. The menu is based on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including vegetables, fruits, and meats. The restaurant is adorned with local artwork and furniture, immersing guests in the local culture.
The hotel also features a spectacular rooftop bar and swimming pool that provides panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forest. This is the perfect place to unwind and take in the breathtaking beauty of the natural surroundings while enjoying a refreshing drink from the bar. The red color in the bar was inspired by one of the famous local festival called Mayasvi.
Built with sustainable materials and energy-saving technologies, this hotel interior design project in Alishan Taiwan is a testament to the careful planning and collaboration between MOD and SL+A HOTELS of the Steven Leach Group. The hotel offers guests a unique and unforgettable experience of a journey of discovery and exploration of Alishan’s Treasures.
