Black Pepper Kenitra Restaurant
Black Pepper is a restaurant in Kenitra, Morocco with a design by Gregoire Maisondieu Architecture & Interior Design featuring a high-rise greenhouse at the entrance, raw materials in the interior, and a warm atmosphere created by neon signs and glass globes at night.
Black Pepper is a restaurant located in the city of Kenitra (Morocco). From the street, a first space, treated as a high-rise greenhouse allows the beautiful light of the Moroccan sun to enter throughout the entire restaurant. Green plants and louvers enliven the façade while creating a distance from the bustle of the street. The main space is centered around a circular mirror ceiling and an island of sofas around which some booths and the bar are located. The booths are delimited by a cladding in burnt wood paneling, and the bar is an imposing white-veined black marble monolith.
The interior envelope of the place is made up of raw materials such as burnt wood, brick, stressed brick and concrete. The furniture uses a limited number of materials such as leather, wood (cedar from a local forest), and black marble veined with white from a local quarry. Plants, generously planted in large terracotta jars, are present throughout the project. At nightfall, the atmosphere of the place is warmed by neon signs and a dense network of amber glass globes.
The Kenitra project is the variation of a first restaurant delivered in Meknes.
