    • Conejo, a modern Mexican dining concept, is located in the redevelopment of the historic Westhampton School site in Richmond’s Near West End. The design team was challenged with creating a modern, festive atmosphere that captures the diverse richness of Mexican cuisine within a cold dark shell of a podium-style building. The owner’s program focused primarily on the open kitchen, developing efficient circulation for front and back-of-house staff, the suggestion of zones in the open dining room, the outdoor covered patio, and concealing the shell’s structure, utilities, and mechanical systems.
