Novotel Zurich City West

Our Novotel Zurich City West project is located at Technopark, an area where industry and massive buildings coexist with parks and welcoming areas with people having lunch or playing with children. It is an industrial area invaded by nature, where individuals perceive and enjoy the space as part of the day-to-day lives. That contrast of scales is singular to that area, so it became the concept to the public areas of the hotel.

The idea was to create that welcoming but impressive atmosphere inside, in a lobby that served to gather people, sharing analog experiences. The main entrance with such high ceiling allowed us to recreate this kind of environment, mixing big volumes with smaller gathering areas. New and different seating spaces such as the eye-catching bleachers coexist with more traditional lounge areas, while everything works harmoniously thanks to a strong and vivid colour palette combined with sustainable and functional materials.

The large central bar is a consequence of the concept we wanted to transmit in the space, it is inspired by the big water tank that is located at the neighbourhood. A central volume that takes centre stage, attracting everyone who arrives, while also organizes the space and helps to create the different circulations we were looking for.
