Atrangi by renowned Chef Ritu Dalmia is situated in Jumeirah Al Qasr, Dubai, and is a design masterpiece that harmoniously fuses regional Indian cuisine with captivating aesthetics. The name Atrangi itself reflects its design ethos, symbolising ‘unique’ and ‘colourful.’
The design inspiration behind Atrangi goes beyond aesthetics; it encapsulates the diverse tapestry of India and draws inspiration from the rich culinary traditions and cultural diversity.
Atrangi’s location within the exquisite Jumeirah Al Qasr, inspired by the summer residences of Sheikhs, is an integral part of its design. It maximises the use of glazing to dissolve the boundaries between the indoor and outdoor spaces, creating an ambiance that offers breathtaking views.
Fit-out craftsmanship takes centre stage with natural wooden flooring, earthy-toned walls, and rattan furniture that marry ethnic charm with comfort and functionality. Notable is the innovative transformation of the architectural facade and the skillful execution of the grand double-height entrance, setting Atrangi apart.
Chef Ritu Dalmia’s culinary genius is at the heart of Atrangi. The design resonates with her vision, celebrating India’s diverse flavours and the culinary narratives of various communities, including the Sindhis and Kayasthas. Primarily, Atrangi pays homage to the nostalgia of homemade dishes prepared by grandmothers, preserving culinary legacies with heartfelt reverence, an idea that is interwoven throughout the design.
The design concept emphasises timelessness, steering clear of transient trends to create an enduring and elegant atmosphere.
