Mayfair House Hotel & Garden
Mayfair House Hotel & Garden underwent a two-year transformation by Goodrich, honoring the building’s architectural heritage with modern interiors, curated art, and unique guest rooms designed as private homes.
After more than 2 years in the making, Mayfair House Hotel & Garden returned to Coconut Grove following an extensive transformation. The grand dame of Miami features brand new culinary and cocktail concepts, Mayfair Grill, Fountain Lounge, and Sipsip, by local favorite Lost Boy & Co. The transformation includes fully renovated guest rooms, curated art from local and international artists, and an oasis that fuses both the glamour and sophistication of the hotel’s iconic past with the vibrant, free-spirited heart of today’s Coconut Grove neighborhood.
Embracing original architect Kenneth Treister’s signature work of art that has transcended time, the hotel honors the best aspects of Mayfair’s golden age. New York-based interior design studio, Goodrich, fully transformed the hotel during an extensive two-year renovation. Each guest room was designed to be a “small private home” with its own terrace and living, dining, and sleeping areas that are accessible from Mayfair’s main courtyard. Guests can choose from eight room types— Studio King, Deluxe Eden Studio, Deluxe Double King, Premium Suite, Studio Garden King, Grand Luxe Corner Suite, Grand Luxe Two-Bedroom Suite and Mayfair Penthouse —ranging from 500 square feet to 1,124 square feet in size. Guest rooms offer thoughtful luxuries, including carved wooden headboards, deep standalone bathtubs, private walled gardens, and outdoor showers. As a tribute to the neighborhood’s inherent freedom of expression, each room at Mayfair House Hotel & Garden is unique, promising guests a new experience each time they visit.
The heart of Mayfair House Hotel & Garden is its vibrant and sun-filled courtyard and garden, filled with lush plantings, cascading fountains, beautiful pools, fanciful copper lighting, and sculptural architectural details. Guests enter the hotel through a large ornate wooden door that was kept and restored from the original property, and access their rooms from the outdoor corridors that surround the garden, experiencing the green oasis by day and night.
Treister’s signature archways, unique finishes, and rich decor elements have been intentionally preserved in Mayfair House Hotel & Garden today. Building on his maximalist style, the property celebrates its neighborhood’s ongoing resurgence with new modern furnishings, a curated guest room art program, and commissioned pieces created by South Florida and Caribbean artists; including glass pieces in the elevator by Verre Églomisé artist Jane Richardson-Mack, a lobby installation by Miami multimedia artist Michele Oka Doner, and a hand-painted wall mural by Bahamian artist Angelika Wallace-Whitfield that serves as a colorful backdrop to the stunning rooftop pool. Additional art by Ryan Humphrey, Lee Clarke, Shauna Lan La, and photographer Anita Calero are highlighted in the guest rooms.
