  • Eaton Fine Art (EFA), an Austin, Texas-based full-service art consultancy firm, in collaboration with Los Angeles-based design firm, beleco, is proud to showcase the curated art collection for the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City. Under the ownership of Xenia Hotels & Resorts, the 225-room hotel underwent extensive renovations and reopened in late summer 2023, offering a guest experience enhanced with artistic discoveries at every corner.

Eaton Fine Art meticulously curated an art collection in the guest rooms and public spaces inspired by Salt Lake City’s surrounding natural landscapes while complementing beleco’s thoughtful design considerations. Eaton Fine Art forged strong collaborations with local artists to curate an engaging art collection, influenced by the scenic Wasatch Mountains and the rich diversity of Utah’s flora and fauna.

The hotel’s lobby, guest corridors, bar and lounge—The Vault, and American-style restaurant—Bambara, feature an art collection celebrating nature’s beauty through subject matter and texture. This approach weaves an authentic ambiance, seamlessly blending earthy refinement with the rugged charm reminiscent of Salt Lake City and its mountains. With a diverse palette of colors, tones, and expressive marks, the art collection evokes the organic flow of the surrounding natural landscape, perfectly capturing the essence of the city’s unique terrain.

For the guest rooms, a key highlight is the intricate woodcut print. This piece features the local Nuthatch bird amidst a backdrop of vibrant maple leaves, beckoning guests to witness the dynamic life unfolding just beyond the hotel’s entrance. Elevating the ambiance further, the captivating landscape pieces above the sofa and beds, crafted by a skilled Utah-based artist, capture the rich textures and hues of the nearby mountains, seamlessly reflecting the ever-changing beauty of each passing season.

Both EFA and beleco are certified as LGBTBE companies—majority-owned and operated by individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
