Cafe Patachou at The Stutz
Martha Hoover’s Café Patachou project in Indianapolis features strategically-placed banquettes, exterior seating, and an airy kitchen design by DELV Design, creating a unique dining experience in a historic setting.
Known for her innovative restaurant concepts, Martha Hoover (Founder of Won’t Stop Hospitality, Inc.) wanted to expand the Café Patachou concept beyond its current “fast casual” presence in Indianapolis. The self-dubbed “Student Union for Adults,” has been a long-standing resident of Central Indiana, so this new location needed to create an experience that would preserve the integrity of the brand, while also exuding its own unique personality within its new historic home.
Strategically-placed banquettes, upholstered in a rich tweed-fabric, flank the edges and center of the space, allowing for a higher volume of guests. Additional exterior seating draws in those looking for a dining experience, contributing to a lively, activated alley.
With an array of neighboring coffee and dining options competing for patrons’ attention, Patachou at the Stutz offers a 3-in-1. Whether in need of a quick cup of hot coffee, a private dining experience, or meeting for casual conversation, this space is home to it all.
Having an equally small footprint as the dining room: the kitchen. Creating an airy, exhibition-style workspace gives a peek into the process and helps open up an otherwise tight space. Close collaboration with Zesco allowed for the perfect curated “behind-the-scenes” view for guests.
