Costa Coffee
Costa Coffee, in collaboration with Gensler, introduced its British heritage-inspired design ethos to the United States through two industrial-chic and artistically blended coffee stores for a unique branded experience.
With an unwavering commitment to broaden its horizons and explore new international markets, Costa Coffee, a renowned British coffeehouse chain, embarked on a significant venture to establish its brand in the United States. Drawing upon its rich British heritage, Costa Coffee crafted a fresh, engaging coffee experience tailored to the American audience. As Costa Coffee’s design partner, Gensler ensured these two initial locations remained true to the brand’s ethos: Uplifting life, keeping the world’s cup half full. Industrial meets sophistication in these Costa Coffee stores, where each corner unveils unique and irresistibly Instagrammable moments. Visitors encounter spaces characterized by purity and simplicity, where a neutral palette is balanced with warmth from wood tones and punctuated by touches of Costa red, leaving room for local art features. Artistic elements gracefully blend the industrial nature of the design with the elegance of Costa, featuring soft brass accents, curved countertops, and gentle lighting fixtures. Distinctive lighting fixtures define various seating zones within the store, while carefully selected furniture creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, encouraging patrons to linger and savor the Costa experience. Costa Coffee’s journey into the United States through these initial stores represents a strategic brand immersion and local adaption blend, serving as a testament to Costa Coffee’s commitment to providing exceptional coffee experiences.
