NĂM – Modern Vietnamese Cuisine
YOD Design Studio has designed the Kiev restaurant NĂM • Modern Vietnamese Cuisine using natural materials, most of which are custom made, to enhance the environment and transport guests to the faraway tropical locale.
NĂM • Modern Vietnamese Cuisine – A restaurant of modern Vietnamese cuisine in Kiev. This is a paradise for true gourmets in the Vietnamese villa of colonial France, because it is in this form that the restaurant is facing everyone who opens its huge entrance doors of 4.5 meters high.
The interior of NĂM is decorated in French colonial style with typical ethnic splashes. In order to achieve maximum authenticity, we have tried to apply as many natural materials as decoration, which were specifically decimated in accordance with the conditions of the tropical Vietnamese climate. All wooden products, including parquet on the ground floor, were made from massive 100-year old barrels of white and red wine. Almost every element in the design, with the exception of chairs and technical lighting, was created exclusively for this restaurant.
On the first floor, the interior space is shaped by an open kitchen, where guests can observe the processes of cooking their dishes and a contact bar, which, on the one hand, transforms into the scenic zone of planting thanks to the tiers of the Vietnamese region, and on the other – smoothly passes to the stairs leading to the second floor with the main guest area.
Due to light experiments, the restaurant radically changes its image according to the time of day. Thanks to the large windows in the daytime, all the halls of the restaurant are full of light. With the onset of the twilight of illumination becomes more muted, and closer to the night almost completely quenched, leaving only certain accents and shadows, which provides a complete transformation of the atmosphere of the institution in the evening.
Without a doubt, the exotic attractive atmosphere of the NĂM interior will certainly not leave anyone indifferent, but authentic Vietnamese recipes, refined and modernized under the patronage of the very Ector Jimenez-Bravo, will be pleasantly surprised even by the most demanding gourmets in their visual and tasteful qualities.
