Confidential Client Tenant Amenities
Kasian Architecture designed a premier tenant amenities floor in a downtown Calgary office complex, blending lifescape with workplace elements to revitalize the area and draw workers back with modern amenities.
The tenant amenities floor in a prominent office complex in downtown Calgary is a fusion of ‘lifescape’ and workplace, offering a premier experience for occupants with a comprehensive suite of amenities to support the four office towers totaling over 3.2 million SF of office space. The introduction of the space supports the challenges of today’s workplace by drawing workers back to the office and revitalizing the downtown core.
The top floor of the podium level was identified as the ideal location to house 30,000 SF of new amenities. This extensive space includes a conference centre, auditorium seating approximately 150 people, 4,000 SF tenant lounge, 10,000 SF fitness center, and additional areas for reception and events.
The pre-function space features a mix of traditional paneling and contemporary rugs and takes advantage of the high ceilings. The tenant lounge’s exposed brick and high ceilings are highlighted by a central fireplace with custom lighting fixtures and full height windows looking onto the pedestrian mall below.
An entire wall of drapery was added along the atrium to conceal a section of dated architecture while still bringing in light from the adjacent skylights. The base building bathrooms were redesigned to today’s standards and incorporate elements of traditional detailing that make them comfortable and timeless.
The elevated character of the fitness centre and yoga studio complements the complex, feeling unlike a typical gym, with exposed ceilings and windows to enhance natural light and views. The entrance to the fitness centre is accented by wood details and marked by a metallic reception desk.
