MOOO Restaurant
Hong Kong-themed restaurant MOOO blends nostalgic ambiance with a mix of street style and signature flavors, featuring a vintage design inspired by the city’s cultural vibrancy, by Zanghellini & Holt Associates.
The restaurant is a tribute to Hong Kong’s uniqueness, celebrating the multicultural cosmopolitan culture and society. Those who were born and raised in Hong Kong, but belong to families that migrated from all over the world. The ambiance is Hong Kong nostalgic, and mixes a casual street style with some of Wooloomooloo’s signature flavours.
A vintage ambiance is given by Hong-Kong-style green metal gate and metal mailboxes, neon signages and concrete breeze blocks the restaurant pays homage to the city vibes. A big secret garden-esque outdoor lush terrace sets a magical mood that contrasts the more bohemian, rough and artsy interior (including mural by artist Elsa Jeandedieu, a 3 piece large format artwork by Chilean artist Claudio Caiozzama, and art pieces by Hong Kong based artist Soledad Sambiasi).
MOOO is placed right next to the iconic Knutsford Terrace, which has a rich history, having been home to British houses in the early Hong Kong days, before the grand Miramar Hotel was built up. The neighbourhood is known for its lively nightlife, with landmarks like the Marigold Restaurant & Nightclub and the Princess Theatre drawing in crowds of celebrities and revellers.
