MorninGlory Restaurant

Abel Design Group served as Architect of Record for this Austin restaurant, collaborating closely with Drift Design Studio and the head chef to bring the vision to life. While Drift Design led the creative direction, ADG’s role focused on ensuring the seamless translation of design intent into reality through construction documentation, City of Austin code coordination, MEP coordination, and detailed design execution.

The design was inspired by the surrounding family-oriented neighborhood, resulting in a space that feels warm, inviting, and connected. Natural materials and soft finishes are layered throughout, featuring light woods, black steel accents, woven textiles, and greenery to create a relaxed, comfortable dining experience.

As AOR, ADG worked hand-in-hand with consultants, engineers, and the design team to coordinate every technical aspect of the project, ensuring compliance with local codes and delivering a space that captured Drift Design Studio’s vision without compromise. The result is a thoughtfully crafted restaurant that blends functionality, authenticity, and atmosphere, perfectly aligned with its neighborhood setting.
