Loudmouth Pizza
Furman + Keil Architects revitalized the historic Haynes-Delashwah house in Austin, as Loudmouth Pizza, blending classic Victorian elements with a vibrant family-friendly atmosphere and inviting outdoor spaces.
Daybreak Hospitality, the team behind Austin’s Paperboy, recently opened its newest concept, Loudmouth Pizza, a neighborhood restaurant offering sharable wood-fired pizzas, fun riffs on classics, and more with a spacious outdoor lawn and indoor seating. Located in East Austin’s historic Haynes-Delashwah house (1209 Rosewood Ave), it is open seven days a week for dinner as well as weekend brunch. Built in the 1890s, the historic Victorian house was previously home to longtime city councilmember Harry L. Haynes and later Austin’s first black pharmacist, Thomas Delashwah.
Situated on a half-acre property, the sprawling lawn offers a vibe reminiscent of a classic beer garden with rows of picnic tables, shaded patio, large oak trees, and a play area for kids. The cozy indoor space features many elements of the original building which became inspiration for the new design, including the stained-glass panels of the entry doors and upstairs windows, as well as beaded paneling throughout the interior which inspired the design of the bar.
