  • area / size 800 sqft
  • Year 2026
  • Location New Delhi, India,
  • Located within the urban fabric of Delhi, Together is conceived as a hidden bar shaped around intimacy, discovery, and sensory experience. Inspired by Japanese listening rooms and vinyl culture, the space prioritizes sound, atmosphere, and immersion, creating an environment where music, materiality, and mood work in harmony.

The arrival sequence introduces the narrative through a foyer dedicated to vinyl culture. Finished in classic black and white subway tiles, the space is anchored by a neon sign reading “Off the Walls,” referencing the iconic Michael Jackson album. This entry moment establishes a graphic, high-contrast prelude before transitioning into the main bar area.

Beyond the threshold, the interior unfolds into a warm, cocooned setting inspired by Japanese sake bars. Rich walnut tones, incorporated through custom Smoked Walnut Veneer by Flamingo Veneers, homogenise themselves as the base tone for the bar, akin to a basement cellar character that feels intimate and grounded. The long wall curving and melding towards the ceiling presents itself as the primary architectural feature evoking the depth and tactility of a wine cellar. The carefully calibrated yet concealed lighting grazes this wall in a way that softens its rough texture – a contract proudly standing as a highlight to behold in the space.

With a compact footprint of approximately 800 square feet and a capacity of 28 seats, the layout is meticulously planned to accommodate functionality while maintaining spatial clarity and comfort. Mirrored interventions punctuate the sense of volume and intrigue. A horizontal band of mirror at seating eye level animates the interior, while a large shelving wall backed with mirror visually extends the room and amplifies the temper of the space by visually echoing tangible movements in the space. Music forms the experiential core of the project. A floating DJ console allows guests to engage directly with the soundscape, reinforcing the listening-bar ethos and encouraging interaction within the space.

Materiality is restrained yet expressive. Travertine is used for the bar counter and tabletops, introducing a tactile stone counterpoint to the warmth of timber surfaces. Custom travertine wall sconces punctuate the interior, casting a soft, diffused glow that enhances the richness of the finishes. All furniture has been bespoke designed for the project, incorporating recurring arched details across tables and elements to create a cohesive visual language. Seating prioritizes both character and comfort, with distinctive backrests engineered for prolonged use.

Lighting plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere. The scheme remains low and ambient, highlighting the grain of wood, the curvature of surfaces, and the depth of textures while preserving an intimate mood throughout.

Within its compact dimensions, Together creates a layered environment that feels immersive and carefully composed. Through the orchestration of sound, material, light, and form, the project transforms a concealed space into a richly atmospheric destination defined by experience and cohesion.
