The Edge Restaurant and Bar & Rise Event Centre
Falkbuilt’s The Edge Restaurant and Bar in Vernon, Canada, masterfully integrates engineered timber to create an iconic dining destination that harmonizes with Lake Okanagan’s breathtaking landscape and elevates hospitality design.
Perched at the Eastern edge of Lake Okanagan within The Rise Resort and Golf Course, The Edge Restaurant and Bar was conceived as an architectural landmark that transforms engineered timber into an immersive spatial experience. The project was driven by a clear ambition from the private owner: to create an iconic, upscale dining destination unlike anything previously realized in the Okanagan region, using timber as the defining architectural language rather than decorative surface.
The building is a new construction positioned to face west, capturing expansive views toward the end of the lake and the surrounding mountain range. Its orientation establishes a direct dialogue between interior space and landscape, allowing the natural setting to become an integral part of the dining experience. The program integrates multiple functions, including an event center, pro shop, and golf simulator lounge on the lower level, with the restaurant and bar occupying the main level. Organizing these diverse uses within a unified architectural identity required a spatial strategy that balanced openness with defined experiential zones.
