    • Oheya, tucked behind its sister restaurant Uchi in Houston, Texas has reimagined the omakase experience with a cozy atmosphere. Oheya translated to “the room” in Japanese is a direct reflection of this intimate space. Once one enters this 1,000 SF space you are immediately greeting at your dining table. A singular 12-top bronze countertop wrapped around where around where the cooks work. The design intent behind Oheya was to help create a chic minimal environment where the food will be true design. With soft colors, lighting, and soft curtains to create a calming environment with thoughtful detail. The custom brass door frame highlights the venue’s unique craftsmanship and intention behind each selection. The tambour wood and brass accents plan into lightness of the space to symbolism the true meaning of omakase “I leave it up to you” or “chef’s choice”.
