DOSS Studio and Eva González Studio’s renovation of the Transit Hotel in Barcelona artfully combines contemporary design with the warmth of family hospitality, creating a tranquil urban retreat that harmonizes natural materials, vibrant textures, and a modern aesthetic to enhance the guest experience.
The Hotel Transit, a family-run landmark located next to Sants Station, unveils its new image after a complete renovation. The interior design project, created by DOSS Studio and Eva González Studio in collaboration with the architectural team ALEAOLEA, blends functionality, warmth, and contemporary design to redefine the concept of urban comfort.
This transformation marks a new chapter for the hotel that embraces a modern aesthetic while preserving its welcoming and familiar spirit. The design fuses the authenticity of its heritage with an atmosphere inspired by Barcelona’s lifestyle: natural materials, existing structures, honest textures, and a color palette that balances neutral tones with dark accents and wooden details. The result is a harmonious space that conveys both serenity and modernity.
The lobby is conceived as a natural extension of the street: a bright, inviting space featuring custom-made furniture, natural greenery, and materials that evoke a sense of calm. In a bustling, ever-moving Barcelona, the reception welcomes guests with a relaxed atmosphere that reflects the hotel’s spirit.
In tune with current trends, the ground floor includes a flexible work area equipped with tables in various formats, designed to adapt to each guest’s needs and reinforce the hotel’s versatile and functional character.
The rooms offer a serene atmosphere for the contemporary traveler. Exposed brick walls painted in graphite gray interact with leather-upholstered headboards and wooden furniture. Carefully designed lighting enhances the textures and creates a soothing sense of relaxation.
The bathrooms maintain material coherence by restoring the original wall textures and incorporating stone-toned ceramic tiles, black faucets, and minimalist metallic elements. Every detail combines design and durability, always keeping the guest’s comfort experience in mind.
The terrace extends the hotel experience. Conceived as a small urban oasis, this space invites relaxation and disconnection, featuring lounge areas, natural greenery, and sleek black furniture. Its design creates a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for unwinding outdoors or enjoying a coffee under Barcelona’s sun.
Located just steps from Sants Station, Hotel Transit is a contemporary urban retreat where family hospitality meets thoughtful design and architecture in dialogue with the city.
