  • Award-winning design firm MatchLine Design Group was tapped to lead the design of the new Delta Hotels Dallas Allen & Watters Creek Convention Center in Allen, Texas, making the project the first ground-up, new build Delta hotel in the United States as well as the first Delta Hotel in Texas. Heading design efforts for both the public spaces and guest rooms of the hotel, the Dallas-based team collaborated closely with Marriott to ensure the brand made a lasting impression on the city of Allen as a flourishing business hub in the Lone Star State.

Upon entering the 300-room, six-story hotel, guests are fully immersed in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. A color palette of luminous grays offset with subtle accents of citron, violet slate, thistle, and cloud blue is combined with natural materials and tones, such as walnut, natural iron, limestone, and cerused local oak for a refined interpretation of the urban Texas landscape. Additionally, the lobby is outfitted with art from local artisans, further elevating the space and paying homage to its Texan foundings.

The upscale lobby leads to the open concept restaurant and feature bar, which serve as a destination for guests and locals alike to grab a bite or a cocktail while engaging in conversation. The restaurant, Stampede 66, is helmed by renowned Chef, founding father of Southwestern cuisine, cookbook author, and fifth generation Texan, Stephan Pyles. The restaurant is the second iteration of the venue, with a menu featuring contemporary twists on classic Texan cuisine such as a 24 Hour Sous Vide Hanger Steak and Honey Fried Chicken with Buttermilk Biscuits.

A custom-designed partition divides the lobby from Stampede 66 to provide diners with an intimate setting without sequestering them entirely from the hotel. The design team also integrated signature design elements found in Chef Pyles’ other restaurants, including a wall dressed by an art screen with a loop of Texas landscapes playing; wood ceilings to create smaller dining niches within the restaurant; an open display kitchen; and a feature wall showcasing wood planks branded with “punchy” Texas phrases, such as “dicey” and “looney-ville.” Additional food and beverage options conceptualized by Chef Pyles include a branded grab-and-go market, Provisions 66 with drinks from local coffee roasters, and Canyon Bar, an upscale lounge..

Other amenities include a fitness center, event lawn, and an outdoor courtyard with a pool and fire pits. The hotel is also connected to the Watters Creek Convention Center, allowing guests in town for sports tournaments and tradeshows to easily travel between the two buildings. With 90,000-square-feet of meeting and event space, over three times more than the average Delta hotel, the Delta Hotels Dallas Allen & Watters Creek Convention Center ensures that business travelers will have a place to stay, work, and play.
