Hey Yo

Inspired by the vivid pastel colors of macarons, Design Action & Associates have taken and adopted these in different areas of the Hey Yo pastry shop in Hong Kong.

  • area / size 800 sqft
  • Year 2018
  • Location Hong Kong, China,
  • Just like a pastry chef forming different shapes with flour and dough, designer is also forming different shapes of design and furniture. When you enter into the shop, it is like living in the macaron world, colourful and rich in pink tones throughout the whole shop. Arch acts as an important architectural element in French design. The circular arch shapes of the wall shows the most beautiful scenery like French windows. Each arch window is painted with gray texture paint. The arch window on the front of the door, it shows neon signs, which permeates the atmosphere of girls in every corner.

Beside the continuous arch windows, different colours of display shelves and display items are composed like a dream-liked oil painting. Round countertops resemble macarons in their unique hues, and chairs resemble coloured dough in contrast to shaped countertops. The wall at the end of the store is covered with grey texture paint, the wall is complimented with nine circular shapes. Not only the design is macaron theme, the colours are combined like an artist’s palette.
