Plaza Premium Lounge Sydney International Airport
IA Design was engaged to design a unique Australian experience at the laid back and relaxed Plaza Premium Lounge at Sydney Airport.
Our client at Plaza Premium Group is an international airport operator, renowned for providing world-class lounge facilities.
The palette for the lounge evokes a warm Australian welcome while the joinery and wall paneling laced with aged brass, adds sophistication and class that comes with the Plaza Premium brand.
Upon entry, the illuminated fluted glass and timber wrapped façade guides the visitors into the lounge. The transition between the full height timber façade into a detailed wall paneling allows the visitors to be transformed from the hustle and bustle of the airport into a more relaxed environment.
The plan is laid out to reflect the curved contours and unique offering of Australian landscapes. The layering of different floor finishes and earthy textures creates zones for dining, lounging, and relaxation for travelers.
The self-serve station and pub styled bar allow solo travelers, couples, and families to comfortably stay refreshed while waiting to board their flight.
Overall, the intention for the lounge is to evoke a laid back and relaxed culture, that Australia is often associated with.
