  • News Cafe is a unique brand that combines the key features of a coffee & cocktail bar, restaurant & entertainment venue.

The store design creates a striking back drop to their winning mixology & culturally progressive music and vibe. Each store is designed to reflect the cultural nuances of the region but also to embody the brand’s ethos – sophisticated entertainment from breakfast to after work drinks.

The design for the News Cafe in Witbank was inspired by the surrounding coal mines. Metallic accents, impressive contours and an earthly colour palette all tell the story of concept.

When designing restaurants, we focus on making the space feel welcoming throughout the guest’s experience, this requires a layering of comfort, intrigue and functionality.

Comfort is achieved through the choice of durable yet texturely and aesthetically pleasing fabrics.

Ceiling features and floor finishes not only demarcate seating areas but anchors them within the space, functionally breaking up an otherwise sea of seats.

Adding elements that keep guests intrigued such as bespoke light fixtures creates moments of surprise and delight.

These are just some of the ways we brought our hospitality design ethos into the News Cafe at Witbank.
